NCMATYC Slack is a virtual place for us to collaborate in many different ways.  Also, NCMATYC Slack can be accessed via mobile app or web browser.  This gives us the flexibility to collaborate where and when we want.  To join, simply go to https://ncmatyc.slack.com/signup and enter your school email.

Screen for joining

When first joining NCMATYC Slack use your school email.

What? Your school domain is not available, aw shucks.  Please email us at ncmatycboard@gmail.com or leave a comment on this page. The more of us collaborating together the better.

Once your account is set up, you will automatically join certain general channels that involve everyone.  However, as of now, there are 30 channels and many are very specific, such as #multiplemeasures, #dept-heads, #mat171, and so on.

What channels will you join and collaborate?

Feel free to join any channel you want. If you see a channel that we don’t have, let us know and we can add it.   Also, note that if you join a channel, then you can leave at any time.  So, if you are teaching #MAT143 this semester and then not the next, you might want to leave the channel next semester.

As you explore the NCMATYC Slack channel, you will see that there are many cool features.  For example, you can direct message any one and have a one on one conversation.  You can also create private channels, such as if you wanted a place just for your school.

We are very excited in the potential that NCMATYC Slack offers us in collaborating with many of the amazing educators across the Great 58 community colleges. If you want to learn more about Slack, then you can learn about it here. https://slack.com/is
